With pre-season now underway for the Premier League the new season feels tantalisingly close for many fans, as their respective clubs head out on tour ahead of their first competitive games.
While for the smaller Premier League sides pre-season tours are all about preparing the side and bonding, for those with a global reach the tours represent the only chance these sides will get to make contact with their fans on the other side of the world, thus present huge commercial opportunities to the powers that be behind the scenes.
With that in mind, Arsenal have headed to Australia, or more specifically Sydney, as they look to gear up for what could be a revolutionary season after the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.
Before a ball was kicked in the Southern Hemisphere, however, The Gunners took the chance to utilise their tour and launched their rather stunning third kit for the new season.
For those fans back home feeling starved on an opportunity to see the kit before it’s worn by the players in a competitive setting, Arsenal FanTV went along to see the new strip and hear from Gunners trio Olivier Giroud, Nacho Monreal and Petr Cech.
Despite the reports linking him with a move to Everton this summer, Giroud is clearly still well loved by the fans who – halfway around the world – still sang his name loud and proud.
