Leeds United fans on Twitter are, unsurprisingly, writing off their interest in Francesco Totti as nonsense.
Speculation started after an interview Marco Borriello did with Sky Italia alluded to a potential offer from Andrea Radrizzani for the Italian to come out of retirement.
The 42-year-old is famously a one-club man having played for AS Roma for 25 years.
This comes just days after the Whites were linked with astonishing moves for both former West Ham man Dimitri Payet (via Sky Sports) and Gianluigi Buffon (Corriere della Sera via SportWitness).
Either there is a huge amount of ambition from the club in this upcoming transfer window, or there are a lot of bogus transfer claims being floated around by news outlets in order to garner a few clicks – Leeds fans certainly believe the latter to be true rather than the former.
United supporters have every right to be sceptical about this claim. Totti has been retired for two years and he is one of the most loyal players in football having never played for a club other than Roma throughout his entire career.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on Twitter.
