Mainz keeper Robin Zentner has blamed Bayern Munich star Harry Kane for his injury after the duo collided during Wednesday's DFB-Pokal clash.

Kane clashed with Mainz goalkeeper Zentner in the first half of Bayern's 4-0 win against Mainz in the second round of the DFB-Pokal while attempting to recover a loose ball following a cross from Serge Gnabry. Zentner required extensive medical attention after the event, which resulted in a cut above his right eyebrow.

Despite being able to continue on through the game, Zentner did not absolve Kane of his fault in the incident that gave him the unfortunate injury. After the match, the Mainz goalkeeper blamed the England captain for going in unnecessarily aggressively despite knowing that he wasn't going to win the ball.

Speaking to the media, Zentner said: "You can blame him for that. He sees relatively early on that he can't get to the ball. Then he might as well just stay away."

The England striker has been in good touch for Bayern Munich this season and will be in action next when the Bavarians take on Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
