The mood at Everton has reached a new low after Marco Silva’s side were humbled by Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
Merseyside derbies have not proven to be typically entertaining affairs in recent years, but the midweek clash provided a break in that recent trend as the hosts ran out 5-2 winners in an enthralling encounter.
Understandably, the Everton supporters were absolutely incensed in the aftermath of proceedings and plenty of their players came in for scathing criticism on social media.
But amongst the passionate words of frustration emerged a handful of positive words for one player who showcased his desire to work hard for the team throughout proceedings, namely Richarlison.
The Brazil international was not at his scintillating best but he displayed a level of commitment that was seemingly absent from plenty of individuals, and these fans took time to recognise that on social media.
Not only did the rising star display the level of enthusiasm required for the big occasion, he also managed to bag himself a goal to take his tally to five in the Premier League this season.
And following his performance, plenty of other supporters were quick to highlight the 22-year-old as one of the only positives to emerge from the game, with one fan going as far to suggest that, Richarlison aside, the entire squad should be eviscerated.
