As we head towards January, Arsenal will surely be looking to strengthen the squad in order to give Unai Emery a team capable of getting the club back into the top four.
Over the summer, Arsenal brought in five new players, all of whom have improved the squad. Lucas Torreira especially has been a star for Emery and has filled a huge void in midfield.
Arsenal, however, still need to add some quality in defence and midfield. In defence, The Gunners need to find a long-term successor Laurent Koscielny and indeed a replacement for the error-prone Shkodran Mustafi.
According to Turkish news outlet, Sabah, Arsenal are interested in signing Galatasaray defender Ozan Kabak.
The Breakdown
Kabak has had a breakthrough season with the Turkish giants this year and at just 18, has already cemented himself as a key player.
The young defender has already made two appearances in the Champions League while also playing nine in the Turkish Super Lig.
While Rob Holding has been outstanding of late, Mustafi constantly looks like he has the ability to concede a goal or make a rash challenge.
Furthermore, Laurent Koscielny is coming off a serious injury and is now on in the backend of his career. With all those factors combined, Arsenal need to look towards the future and sign a young promising defender to partner Rob Holding going forward.
Activating his £6.7 million release-clause might just prove to be a shrewd piece of business from Arsenal in the long run.
