David Beckham has responded to a Manchester United taunt from Arsenal-supporting son Romeo by saying he will sleep well with "all my trophies".

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Gunners in their last Premier League outing, with set pieces proving to be their undoing at Emirates Stadium. Said loss has left United languishing 13th in the English top-flight table.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are riding high in third – with seven points separating them from leaders Liverpool. Romeo Beckham has taken great delight in seeing his favourite side get one over on the team that his father once represented with such distinction.

Romeo posted on social media in the wake of Arsenal’s victory, alongside an image of him smiling above a Gunners crest: "Sleep well @davidbeckham." Ex-England captain Becks has replied with, while adding a United badge of his own: "I will with all my trophies."
