Vinicius Junior's goal gave Brazil the win against Paraguay and secured their place at the 2026 World Cup but it did not come without consequence for the winger. He was withdrawn with 12 minutes to go with an apparent leg issue, with the winger grimacing as he hobbled off past head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

His withdrawal will have summoned a grimace in Madrid from both Real fans and head coach Xabi Alonso just days before the Club World Cup. Los Blancos will be looking to win their fair share of the hefty prize money on offer from FIFA.

Vinicius is set for a starring role under Alonso, alongside Kylian Mbappe. The Brazilian may play in more of a striker role alongside the Frenchman, completing half of what would be one of the most dangerous attacking duos in the world.
